A week in review

It's been a week of progress as I make my way as a vegetarian.  I have to admit Friday night I ate imitation crab meat and yesterday I ate shrimp meat, but nothing more than seafood.  Surprisingly enough yesterday I had the most energy out of all the days since I started this experiment in vegetarianism and karma, but woke up with no energy this morning.  Could it be the shrimp I ate or is the change in protein intake?

I had a fantastic weekend in California and didn't eat any meat both on Saturday and Sunday.  I absolutely had a great time at the Hollywood Bowl to watch the infamous Beach Boys play their hits and even dug deep in their inventory to play songs I've never even heard.  My husband and I had traveled with my production manager Heidi and her boyfriend Mike and for them being in their early twenties I was really impressed with how much they knew. 

Mike especially, we knew he was a bigger fan than most people, but he knew every song including the back story of each.  How cool is it to hang with people who are as into music as you are.  What a gift that music brings to each and every one of us. 

In our short stay in LA, I was able to make a couple appointments beforehand with some fabric vendors and ended up buying fabric for a future line from Fancy Fabrics.  The reason why I chose them to buy from was that they were one of the few fabric vendors who had a website.  I also found out it is a family business, which I love to support.  I'm not to the point where I can buy 500 yards of one fabric yet and so they had low minimums that help me as a small business owner. 

I came home completely inspired by California and had an unbelievable time.  I was even able to squeeze in seeing my brother an hour outside of LA on the way going back to Arizona.  In my eyes this was a perfect trip full of nice surprises.
