Yesterday's Results

Yesterday was my official day of the vegetarian experiment.  I went to my favorite Vegan restaurant Green on 7th Street and McDowell, ordered my favorite meatless "Spicy Buffalo Wings" and a "Ranchero Salad."  I first found out about Green (Tempe location) when I gave up meat for Lent for the first time in 2007 and the restaurant saved me from temptation and giving into eating meat.

While there, as if I needed more signs to become a vegetarian I ran into Rocco Menaguale a resident artist and architect eating lunch with another noted architect and writer Taz Loomans.  The world definitely seems small at times and I'm glad, because I take a genuine interest in other people's lives and running into people reminds me that I have to do a better job in attending local events.

After lunch, my awesome production manager Heidi and I were headed off to the Bee's Knee's to pick up some clothes to take with me to Los Angeles.  I truly didn't intend to shop, but I did.  I think Heidi found the best deals and cooler items, like these size 4 menswear  shoes, a cute pair of Nine West heels, and a chiffon dress all for $6.00.  I think Julia, the owner of the store gave her the designer discount and she couldn't resist.

I found a dress that will inspire my new chiffon wedding gown line.  I didn't think it would fit at all and Heidi made me "model" it and I was quite surprised.  I only bought it for visual inspiration.  I also found a cool zippered bag for $10.00 that completely unzips, which is inspiration for a future dress and I also bought fabric that I plan to make a sundress out of, similar to the "Little Women Tea Party"dress I made.

At least I don't have to feel guilty about shopping,  the stuff was second hand and not new.  I also love to support my local shops and Julia from the Bee's Knee's takes great lengths to make the clothes look great and even takes them to the dry cleaners so happy people like me get to go shopping without the "new clothes" guilt.

I guess overall my first day as a vegetarian was inspiring and completely awesome.  For dinner I had a bean burrito at America's Taco Shop and ended up walking my dog Dodger (named after the baseball team in Los Angeles, the place we will be visiting tomorrow - hehehe).
